With the completion and official opening of the Four Points Flex by Sheraton Hanover, multi-brand hotel operator The Chocolate on the Pillow Group (COTP) has set another milestone in the rebranding strategy of the former GHOTEL hotel & living locations. The hotel, which was previously operated by COTP under its own brand GHOTEL hotel & living Hannover, has been extensively modernized in recent months and completely converted to the Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand.
A total of around 4 million euros was invested in the modernization. The Four Points Flex by Sheraton Hannover stands for an uncomplicated guest experience with reliable standards and an ideal location for business and city travelers. The hotel has 329 guest rooms, all of which have been upgraded to modern standards of comfort and service, including free Wi-Fi and in-room workspaces. All public areas, such as the restaurant and corridors, have been given a new design and contribute to a contemporary quality of stay. Images of the iconic “Nana” sculptures by artist Niki de Saint Phalle are part of the redesigned reception and lobby, underlining the welcoming character of the Hanover hotel. As part of the rebranding, the entire technical infrastructure was also renewed: a new property management system (PMS), a new point-of-sale system (POS) and a completely modernized IT architecture form the basis for efficient operating processes and a modern, digital guest experience.
The 14 modernized conference rooms are equipped with the latest presentation technology, have natural daylight, flexible room configurations and enable events, meetings, workshops and seminars with capacities of up to 120 people. Hanover is an impressive location thanks to its central position in the German transport network, continuous demand from trade fair, congress and business tourism as well as an economically broad-based corporate landscape with international connections. The combination of year-round demand, good accessibility and stable market conditions creates reliable framework conditions for hotel operations.
“With the opening of the Four Points Flex by Sheraton Hanover, we are continuing our rebranding strategy with the transfer to an up-and-coming franchise brand. We are creating attractive, marketable products for guests and strengthening our collaboration with Marriott International. We are focusing on the success of international brands and all the resulting added value for our guests,” says Erik Florvaag, CEO and Managing Partner of The Chocolate on the Pillow Group.
Four Points Flex by Sheraton is a modern Marriott brand that has been specially developed for business travelers and impresses with its clear design, smart technologies and reliable standards. The hotels offer efficient processes, digital services and sustainable mobility solutions – ideal for companies with high travel requirements. Thanks to central locations and an excellent price-performance ratio, the brand is perfectly tailored to the needs of the new business generation.
In 2025, four hotels of the former own brand GHOTEL hotel & living were successfully converted to Four Points Flex by Sheraton. The last location in Kiel will be completed in March 2026. This will mark the end of the GHOTEL hotel & living own brand phase and the portfolio will be consistently aligned with internationally established brands.
