With the completion of the model rooms and the finalized brand identity, it becomes clear for the first time what the hotel will feel like in the future: bright, warm, unpretentious, and attentive to every detail. DASEYN is not a hotel that merely uses Berlin as a backdrop. It takes the place where it stands seriously. Fischerinsel, once defined by water, community, and neighborliness, becomes the starting point for a hotel concept that reimagines arrival: not as a check-in, but as a feeling.
There are places in Berlin where the city grows quieter for a moment. Fischerinsel is one such place. Nestled between the banks of the Spree, historic landmarks, Museum Island, Alexanderplatz, and the political center, the DASEYN Berlin Fischerinsel is a new city hotel that brings together urban life, tranquility, design, and genuine hospitality.
Under the tagline “On the Spree. Right in the Moment,” DASEYN encapsulates its promise to guests: a central location without the hustle and bustle of the big city, high-quality design without feeling aloof, and service without the pretense. Guests staying here have Berlin right on their doorstep and, at the same time, a retreat that offers space. For business travelers, this means: focused work, a good night’s sleep, and quick access to anywhere. For conference attendees: short distances, a high-quality environment, and breaks that are truly restorative. For visitors to Berlin: Museum Island, Alexanderplatz, the Nikolaiviertel, the banks of the Spree, and neighborhood experiences right nearby—and in the evening, a place you’ll be happy to return to.
“With DASEYN, Berlin is getting much more than just a new hotel,”says Maria-Magdalena Brandt-Haberzettel, managing director of forum hotel fischerinsel GmbH. “We’re creating a place that offers guests what many are looking for in a city like Berlin: proximity to the city and a break from its fast pace. DASEYN combines tranquility, refined aesthetics, warm hospitality, and a location that could hardly be better. Our goal is to create a hotel that doesn’t have to be loud to leave a lasting impression. .”
The name DASEYN says it all. It stands for being there, arriving, and being present. The “Y” gives the name a sense of independence and a subtle historical depth. From this idea emerges a hotel that doesn’t merely assert a certain ethos, but brings it to life: through a warm welcome, clear wayfinding, thoughtfully designed rooms, authentic cuisine, and public spaces that facilitate encounters without imposing them.
The interior design visibly reflects this philosophy. Warm terracotta tones, light mineral surfaces, natural materials, herringbone parquet, custom-built fixtures, and subtle lighting create an atmosphere that feels both urban and cozy. The rooms are designed as sanctuaries: light wood, soft fabrics, pleasant textures, and clear functionality. Everything is designed to make guests’ stays as comfortable as possible—from focused work at the desk to a relaxing return after a long day in the city.
Culinary-wise, DASEYN is also set to become a place where guests and the neighborhood come together. The plan is to offer dining that reinterprets Berlin tradition in a contemporary way: authentic, accessible, high-quality, and with an appreciation for its origins. From breakfast to simple daily specials to evening dining at the bar and tables, the culinary offerings will reflect the character of the venue: not overly staged, but hospitable, open, and imbued with the spirit of Berlin.
The Marktmeister will be a special focal point of the establishment: reception, bar, and host counter all in one. Here, your stay begins not with formalities, but with a genuine welcome, a cup of coffee, a tip for the evening, or—later on—a drink. The Marktmeister embodies everything that makes DASEYN special: service, guidance, social interaction, and a touch of that neighborhood vibe.
“DASEYN combines an exceptional location, a strong brand concept, and a sustainable business model,”says Erik Florvaag, CEO and Managing Partner of The Chocolate on the Pillow Group. “Berlin is a key growth market for us. We are delighted to be partnering with forum hotel fischerinsel GmbH to develop a hotel that offers guests genuine added value: tranquility in the heart of the city, quality and sophistication without pretension, and hospitality with character. .”
HARRE INTERIORS is responsible for the interior design. The Hotel Marketing Group helped develop the brand strategy. Brandnamic shapes the corporate design, digital brand experience, and website.
